Istanbul. A train-the-trainer training course in pipeline construction for trainers from 01 Ankara and 02 Istanbul will be held at the training facilities in Istanbul. Together with the Turkish trainers, the following topics will be dealt with in mutual exchange:

State Minister Prof. Dr. Maria Böhmer and the German Ambassador visit the TAMEB Project in Ankara
Ankara. State minister Prof. Dr. Maria Böhmer and the German Ambassador Martin Erdmann visited the Syrian Friendship Association (SFA) training center in Ankara on November 13th, 2017. SFA cooperates with the “Berufsförderungswerk der Bauindustrie NRW gGmbH” (BFW NRW gGmbH) to help Syrian refugees and disadvantaged Turkish citizen in order to qualify in construction modules.
Prof. Dr. Maria Böhmer told a journalist that she visited SFA because she wanted to see how the refugees qualify within the TAMEB project as Germany provides a financial support of 15 million euros for the project. The German government invests 150 million euros each year for refugee projects. Böhmer emphasized the friendship between Germany and Turkey which proves itself even in difficult times: “In this respect we will support each other on the refugee issue.”
Böhmer impressed by women’s power
While touring the training center Prof. Dr. Maria Böhmer was very impressed by all the female Syrian participants who were qualifying for becoming a tiler. Böhmer herself was once the women’s union’s chairwoman. In her opinion the female refugees she saw on her tour encourage other women as they demonstrate a strong will to become successful.

Ankara. In May 2017, the Berufsförderungswerk der Bauindustrie NRW gGmbH (BFW NRF gGmbH) started the qualification of Syrian refugees and underprivileged Turkish groups in the constructional area of bricklaying in Ankara in cooperation with the Syrian Friendship Association.
At the on-site trainings, which 75 interested people attended in the training centers of the Syrian Friendship Association on a regular basis, the first participants were even able find a job in the construction industry and even qualified as a part of the first German-Turkish Train-the-Trainer-training.
A ceremonial handover of the certificate to the first 75 TAMEB-graduates took place 27.09.2017 at the training location in Ankara. RA Sebastian Richter, general manager and head of the main association (office Brussels) of the German construction industry, Dr.-Ing. Bernd Garstka, general manager of the BFW NRW gGmbH as well as Dipl.-Ing. Ulrich Goos, head of the training center (ABZ) Kerpen, attended the ceremony.
Start of the second qualification courses with 93 participants in constructional qualification courses in Ankara – first women to qualify as tilers in Turkey
Ankara. Since 04. September 2017, the Berufsförderungswerk der Bauindustrie NRW gGmbH (BFW NRF gGmbH) and the Syrian Friendship Association started the qualification training for tilers with 93 participants in Ankara. About one third of the participants are Syrian women. During a visit at the SFA- training locations from the general manager of the BFW NRW gGmbH, Dr.-Ing. Bernd Garstka, and RA Sebastian Richter, general manager and head of the main association (office Brussels) of the German construction industry, on 27. September 2017, the self-confident Syrian women said that they want to contribute to a successful integration in Turkey and Syria with this qualification.
The refugees and disadvantaged Turkish groups that live in the outskirts of a city are planned to be trained digitally via interactive online modules. About 300 people each year belong to that target group (700 people in total from 2017-2019).
The goal of the online module is to teach special skills and supply an easy and entertaining medium to equalize different levels of education in groups with different cultural background with easy and picture oriented language via digital media.
11Ankara/ Kilis. As a part of the TAMEB project, 560 people are supposed to be trained and qualified in constructional occupations from 2017 to 2019. At least 200 of the trainees should be able to find an occupation in construction companies or similar companies from 2017 to 2019.
Training locations with several rooms as well as a workshop have been established by the Turkish partner for the realization of the project in Ankara in Kilis.
The first Three-Months-Training that started in Ankara and in Kilis was for bricklaying. The first trainings in Ankara started in May 2017 with 75 participants and in Kilis in July 2017 with 150 participants.
During the theoretical lessons the participants not only learn about professional expertise, but also about work and health protection. Accompanying the theoretical lessons, the learned skills will be practiced immediately as well.
The participants are provided with personal protective equipment, tools and learning and teaching resources by the BFW-NRW gGmbH und SFA.
Ankara. The Train-the-Trainer program was designed for the training of German and Turkish trainers by the BFW NRW gGmbH and has already been successfully realized with the Turkish partners in Germany in 07/2016 as well as in Turkey in 08/2017
In order to design the measures sustainably, the learned material should be passed on through the Train-the-Trainer trainings. A draft fort a qualification module for a Train-the-Trainer training looks as follows:

Ankara. With the appropriate qualification, the participants of the courses are supposed to be motivated to strive for independence. To achieve that, BFW NRW gGmbH and SFA will develop and carry out seminars about entrepreneurship in close cooperation.
In August 2017 the training participants also participates in an Entrepreneurship-Workshop in Ankara to receive information about the different ways of independence and self-employment in Turkey.
